As a result of the department's Outreach programme a number of
engineering related projects have been developed. These are designed to be
short, typically of 2 - 6 hrs. duration, fun, problem-solving activities which are primarily for use with students attending summer schools.
A few examples of the projects undertaken are given below together with some
of the teaching materials used. In some cases the material has been
developed so that a pack of kits can be supplied which can enable a
school/organisation to run the event. (Currently this service is only
available to schools etc. in the Cambridge area.)
