Contacting people from web pages

The maintainer of any individual page should be shown at the bottom of the page; you can contact them following the guidelines below.

Email

Individuals' email addresses at the Engineering Department are made up of a username plus (unless otherwise specified) @eng.cam.ac.uk, where the username is the person's initials, usually followed by one or more digits. For example, wxr@eng.cam.ac.uk, or wxq25@eng.cam.ac.uk.

If, on a web page, someone is listed as Chris Parker (cp12), the cp12 is their username. If you want to send an email message to them, their address will be cp12@eng.cam.ac.uk.

Some email addresses refer to an 'office', rather than an individual - for example, web-editor, but, as before, just add @eng.cam.ac.uk for the e-mail address.

Telephone

Phone numbers are often listed as five-digit extension numbers. For external dialling via the public exchange (+44 (0)1223):
Phone extensions beginning with 3 should be prefixed by 3 : +44 (0)1223 3xxxxx
Phone extensions beginning with 6 or 4 should be prefixed by 7 : +44 (0)1223 7xxxxx
