Deputy Head, IT Services Division

The role holder is Deputy Head of the IT Services Division and, with the Head of Division, forms the senior management team of the Division. The role holder plays a key role in the development of departmental computing policy and technical direction.

The role holder leads the section of the Division responsible for providing departmental wide services and has specific responsibilities for the staff and planning in this part of the Division. The role holder must be a senior and experienced computer professional capable of providing technical, personnel and general management as well as hands-on technical work of a highly complex nature.

The role holder provides technical leadership and input to departmental strategic planning, as well as providing technical and computing policy advice to individual members of the department at all levels, and manages limited resources to deliver effective computer support. The role also includes service planning, development and maintenance.
