Programming and CBT Consultant

The role holder is both programming advisor to staff and students at all levels in the Department, and plays a major part in the Department’s Computer-Based Teaching. The role holder contributes to Computer-Based Teaching in a variety of ways: as the member of staff in charge of the IA programming practical; teaching in practicals; providing assistance to academics in the development of their computer based teaching, including writing coursework programs and documentation; and supervising and marking practicals and projects.

The role holder also supports teaching, research and administration more generally in the Department by designing and implementing or acquiring programs for general, engineering and teaching administration use; writing and organising documentation, especially Web-based; and providing specialist programming advice for a number of programming languages.
