Senior Network and IT Technician

The Senior Network and IT Technician for Division F (Information Engineering) and G (IT Services), is responsible for the day-to-day management of all Technicians in these Divisions. This currently comprises 3 Computer Operators (1 T5 and 2 T4) and 3 Technicians (1 T4 and 2 T5). One of these Technicians supports teaching and research for Division F; the other two along with the role holder are responsible for the Departmental network, and for PC installation and support.

Reporting to the Departmental Network Manager, the role holder leads a team of 3 which assists with planning, installation, testing and maintenance of the computer network throughout the Engineering Department. The role holder is responsible for associated administrative activities, including time sheets, purchasing, expenditure control and maintenance of records, for the Division F/G Computing Workshop. The role holder also provides technical support for research and teaching in Division F.
