Dr Jennifer Schooling

Dr Jennifer Schooling, Director of Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction and Chair of the Research Strategy Steering Group at the Centre for Digital Built Britain, has been awarded an OBE for services to Engineering and to Digital Construction.

I am delighted and honoured to receive this award which also reflects the success of the collaborative nature of CSIC.  I would like to acknowledge the significant contribution made by the many research associates, academics and industry professionals I work with.

Prior to joining CSIC, she worked in industry for Arup, leading the Research Business, and the Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network leading on the development of the agenda for the emerging Future Cities Catapult. She has a PhD from the University of Cambridge.

The New Year’s Honours list recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom.  Dr Schooling, a Fellow of Darwin College, said: “I am delighted and honoured to receive this award which also reflects the success of the collaborative nature of CSIC.  I would like to acknowledge the significant contribution made by the many research associates, academics and industry professionals I work with. It is an exciting time for smart infrastructure and digital construction and I look forward to further collaborative work in the coming year.”

Professor Lord Robert Mair, Head of CSIC, said: "This is wonderful news. Many congratulations to Jennifer on this very well deserved honour – we are all very proud of her."
