BBC Radio 3 interviewed Julian Allwood, Professor of Engineering and the Environment, for a special episode exploring developments in engineering during the lifetime of German composer and pianist Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).

Professor Allwood discussed the impact of engineering developments on Beethoven’s day-to-day life, as part of BBC Radio 3’s Beethoven Unleashed season, marking the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth.
