Dr Mark Gales
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has announced that Dr Mark Gales has received IEEE Fellow status. This status is the highest level of IEEE membership and Mark received it for his "contributions to acoustic modelling for speech recognition".
Recognising the achievements of its members is an important part of the mission of the IEEE. Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE bestows its fellowships on a select group of members in recognition of unusual distinction in the engineering profession. The IEEE is the world's largest technical professional society and is devoted to advancing the theory and application of electronics and computing.
