How to Apply

Research Degrees, PhD & MPhil in Engineering: If you wish to undertake a Research Course the first step is to read the Department Research Pages and find the research group that is closest to you interests. If you wish you may contact a member of staff to discuss your chosen topic. Please note that you may not receive a quick response. You will be required to write a short research proposal on your application form.
Application Process: The electronic application form can be accessed via Graduate Admissions; all supporting documentation should be uploaded to the web site as soon as possible after you have applied. When the Board receive your supporting documents: references, transcripts etc, they will be forwarded to the Department of Engineering. The Graduate Studies Office will then forward your application to the appropriate Research Division. If it is not clear which Research Division you wish to work with your application may be delayed.

Taught MPhil Courses: The application procedure is the same but a research proposal is not required.
Choosing a College - We cannot give you advice on which colleges to choose. There is a list of colleges on the Board of Graduate Studies web site - link below. All 31 colleges accept Engineering Students. If you are not accepted by your chosen colleges your application papers with be considered by other colleges.
How long will it take? – We will do everything we can to get your application processed as quickly as possible but please note it can take up to four months.
