Julian's PhD research is in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). The project aims to develop experimental and numerical techniques to investigate and understand the micromechanics of composite fracture, so as to assist in the design of the main wing structure of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
