My research concentrates on molecular design for targeted applications such as photonic systems and nanotechnology. In particular soft matter based molecular switches/tweezers, fast switching high contrast displays, high quantum yield organic scaffolds as coherent light sources for high data telecommunications, organic semiconductors, OLED/solar devices and waveguide/hydrogel based holographic disposable biosensors. My research encompasses these self-assembled nanomaterials at the molecular level, mainly in the creation of photonic structures, and to exploit potential advanced functionality. This is interdisciplinary research work that involves expertise across several disciplines and institutes as can be seen from my recent publications.
