My research is in the field of Turbomachinery. I am passionate about improving turbomchines’ performance through understanding fluid mechanic phenomena. I am also keen in using numerical method of simulating fluid dynamics within turbomachinery, which would help further improve the understanding and design process in the real world.
My work have been devoted to various topics:
- Pulsating Flow Effects on Turbocharger Turbine Performance
- Fan-intake Interaction in Civil Engine under High Incidence
- Engine Fan modelling using Immersed Boundary Method on Smeared Geometry
- Developing high speed and high performance centrifugal compressor
I am currently working on developing high speed and high performance centrifugal compressor. This research aims to help Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) improve the design of automotive turbocharger which is an enabling technology of reducing automotive emissions.
Department role and responsibilities
I am also a College Lecturer in Engineering in Girton College. I am responsible for supervising IA Mechanics, 1A Thermofluids, IB Mechanics and IIA Compressible Flow
