Tim is a PhD candidate researching the application of advanced data analytics techniques to the manufacturing industry. These include statistical, machine learning, and text mining methods.
He is focused on how analysis of warranty data may be advanced, and how this data source can be paired with others - for example analysing product sensor data to predict failures. This overlaps with work in predictive maintenance, however deals with large fields of relatively low-value products.
Tim will be spending 2017-18 based at the Alan Turing Institute.
