Biography
Dr Vahid Afroughsabet joined the Resilient Materials 4 Life (RM4L) project in July 2021 as a Research Associate. He is leading on field trials activities and self-healing low carbon concrete for pavement as well as the development of self-sensing self-healing concretes using smart fibres.
Vahid obtained his PhD from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 2018 on the topic of high performance calcium sulfoaluminate cement-based concrete reinforced with different types of fibres. He was involved in collaboration with UC, Berkeley and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto and Research Associate at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Vahid research interests are including but not limited to smart infrastructure materials, fiber-reinforced concrete, concrete durability, innovative binders, and reuse of waste in construction materials.
