I am interested in geometric modelling and computational mechanics. For my PhD research, I investigate mathematical representations for 3D surfaces and their suitability as basis functions for isogeometric analysis (IGA). The main idea of IGA is to integrate computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering (CAE) systems by using a single common representation for both geometries and finite element analysis. Among most surface representations used in computer graphics, my PhD work focuses on subdivision surfaces and manifold-based surface constructions. In addition to basis functions, I also develop novel computational techniques for fluid-structure interactions, e.g., immersed finite element method with two-level variational multiscale stabilisation.
