Research Groups

Electronics, Power and Energy Conversion group's primary research focuses on power electronic devices and integrated circuits, and their uses in various applications.

Photonics is an active and growing area of research within the Department with three groups investigating different aspects of photonics, applications, and materials whilst collaborating with each other and a variety of industrial partners.

The Solid State Electronics and Nanoscale Science group's research interests lie in electronic devices and materials; nanomaterials and spectroscopy; scientific imaging; and novel materials, metrology and device architecture (the Hofmann Group).
