Experiment A4: Frequency Domain Analysis
Introduction
This experiment is designed as a practical introduction to Fourier transforms and frequency-domain analysis of signals. In this experiment, the system that is analysed is the same model structure used in the 1A Vibration Modes experiment (experiment 7). Using a PC, signals are sent to structure and its response is recorded and viewed in the time domain. Fourier transforms are used to view these signals in the frequency domain and compare the relationships between input and output, as well as looking at different implementations of the Fourier algorithms.
