AIMS
The material on vehicle vibration introduces some simple mathematical models and performance criteria, and shows how the suspension parameter values can be tuned to optimise performance.
LECTURE SYLLABUS
Introduction (1L) (Dr D. J. Cole and Prof. D. Cebon )
Vehicle dynamics(6L) (Prof D. Cebon)
Vehicle vibration (6L) (Dr D. J. Cole)
OBJECTIVES
On completion of the module students should:
COURSEWORK
One laboratory experiment on behaviour of rubber tyres, to be performed in pairs, essentially unsupervised. A booking sheet will offer a wide range of possible times at which the experiment may be performed. A normal laboratory write-up is to be prepared, which will be assessed for the coursework credit. Total time commitment will be comparable to a Part IIA major experiment.
