ENGINEERING TRIPOS PART IIB - 2012/2013

Module 4D10 - Structural Steelwork

3D4 assumed, 3D3 useful.

12 lectures + 2 examples classes + coursework

Coursework / Report / Start of Lent Term / 25 %

AIMS

This module aims to bridge some of the gap between structural analysis, as taught in Parts I and IIA, and practical steel design as presented in design codes; however, although it will refer to the appropriate codes, it will not be an "introduction to the code" module.

COURSEWORK

Design exercise for a simple two-storey office building, using methods from the course. Formal report for assessment.
