AIMS
The aim of this course is to introduce the principal elements of project management; equipping students with the basic skills to enable them to manage a small project and to operate effectively as part of a project team.
LECTURE SYLLABUS
Session 1: Introduction to Project Management - inception phase
Session 2: Evaluating and defining the project - project planning
Session 3: Evaluating and defining the project - risk management
Session 4: Project execution - organisation
Session 5: Handover - project control, completion and evaluation
Session 6: Bringing it all together - case study exercise
Session 6:PRINCE 2 and Research Projects
Session 8: Course Review and Current Topics
