Requirements for the ECP Exchange

Students applying for the exchange programme:

should have an advanced level of ability in French (see below)
will normally have obtained at least a II.1 at Part IA of the Engineering course and be expected to do likewise at Part IB
should be open to experiencing a different culture and different style of education

Courses at ECP are given in French so you must be able to speak, write and understand the language well by the time courses start in September. However, a one or two month residential language course is available at Cavilam (near Vichy) to help you prepare for the exchange. In the past we have obtained funding for this through the French embassy and hope to be able to do so again this year. Obviously your French needs to be reasonably good before you apply, so if you are unsure about this then you should contact Mr Casimir D'Angelo (cd237@cam.ac.uk) at the Language Unit who will make an assessment of your language level.
