Aerospace Industry
Introduction
The UK has a 17% global market share, making the UK the largest aerospace industry in Europe and globally second only to the USA. With 2600 companies across all regions of the UK, the sector provides over 100,000 direct jobs and indirectly supports many more. In 2011 the sector generated 24.2bn of UK revenue, 75% of which was exported.
Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS)
The RAeS is the Aerospace based engineering Institution, and is the world's only professional body which caters for the entire aerospace community. The RAeS website provides information on becoming a member. Membership will give you access to company details, as well as the RAeS Careers Officer, who might be able to help you find an appropriate company. They host a dedicated Careers Web site, complete with an employers directory listing company names and contact information.
Aerospace Defence and Security ( ADS )
ADS is the Premier Trade Organisation for all companies operating in the UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industries. It incldues the British Aviation Group whose primary interest is the development of Airports and related facilties.

British Defence Equipment Catalogue (BDEC)
A very comprehensive site covering equipment used for military purposes. A lot of the companies are involved in the Aerospace sector, designing or manufacturing aircraft, specialised systems and components. There is a searchable database which has full contact details, plus product descriptions. There may be nationality restrictions and security checks for some of these companies.
