The Engineering Council have set up a database
devoted to Engineering Consultancies spread across the field of Engineering
activities, but mainly concentrated on Civil, Structural, M & E
(Mechanical & Electrical) and Geotechnical areas.
It contains contact information,
and is searchable by type of activity plus UK/European region. Some of the Entries also contain
hyperlinks directly to the Company's own in-house website and direct e-mail
addresses.
Association of Consulting Engineers
(ACE)
The ACE site gives
information about consultancies and is especially useful for Regional
office locations and addresses of the large consultancies, as well as the
smaller regionally based players. Simple and easy to search, just click

University of Bath
Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering have
a very long list of organsations involved in the
Construction industry. It is a just a long list of web sites, in useful
groupings and you may recognise many of the names. It
is maintained by Dr Chris Williams who is a CUED Alumnus amongst other things
and has kindly given us permission to add this link.

Contractors
are responsible for the construction and maintenance of
buildings, transport systems, and structures. There is a list of them in order
of size of turnover, work in hand and number of people employed Contractors List.
There are also a regional selection criteria as well.
Demolition and Remediation

Instead
of building structures, you might also be interested in knocking them down or
restoring land that has been heavily polluted by industrial use. You can
achieve this aim by working with one of the specialists who deal with
demolition, remediation and re-cycling of buildings and building sites. The National Federation of Demolition
Contractors is the major source of contacts and information and has an
excellent web site.
The Construction Equipment
Association
The
Construction Equipment Association is a trade organisation
for Construction equipment and machinery manufacturers and
suppliers. So it’s good for mechanical and electrical openings, and has some
connections with automotive. The website
is well constructed and easily navigable as well as being available in four
different languages. The members list provides full contact information and
company descriptions.
