Facilities
The Language Unit offers students multi-media on-site facilities for learning at all levels, from Beginners to Intermediate and Advanced levels providing the following language learning resources:
- taped TV magazine programmes, films, daily news
- Satellite TV: real time TV in many languages
- CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) software, some of which has been specially made for Engineering students.
- CKS multi-media material on CD-ROMs aimed at scientists especially engineers and devised by a consortium of universities led by the Cambridge University Language Centre.
- Magazines: weekly general interest magazines, political magazines, car magazines etc.
- Books: course books, reference books such as dictionaries and grammar guides, "fun books" like SF, novels and thrillers.
Available is an audio-visual room with 12 computers, library and self-study area.
