Habib Fathi

Research Assistant
Ph.D. Candidate, expected graduation in 2013

Mr. Fathi is a Ph.D. candidate doing research in point corresondence matching for videogrammetric surveying of construction sites. His research objective is to solve the 3D reconstruction problems that occur when trying to get the 3D geometry of the built environment from a moving video system, such as low accuracy, high percentage of failures, and low utilization of the environment's intrinsic features. His research employs a combination of points, lines, and planes to reformulate the Structure from Motion process needed to generate geometry that can be usable in the construction industry, and in particular for on-site digital fabrication of construction components.

Jong Su Jeon

Research Assistant
Ph.D. Student, expected graduation in 2013

Jong-Su Jeon is a PhD Candidate in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech. He is currently developing the framework for the aftershock fragility assessment of RC building structures, part of the NSF-sponsored Machine Vision Enhanced Post Earthquake Inspection project.

Abbas Rashidi

Research Assistant
Ph.D. Candidate, expected graduation in 2013

Mr. Rashidi is a Ph.D. candidate doing research in reciprocal reconstruction and recognition for modeling of constructed facilities. He is currently working on efficient techniques for 3D reconstruction and 2D element recognition of girder-box bridges.

Gauri M. Jog

Ph.D. Candidate, expected graduation in 2013

Ms. Jog is a Ph.D. candidate doing research in spatial tracking using sterometric camera systems. She is currently exploring ways to achieve rotation, translation and scale invariant self- calibration of a video camera system needed in her research of a novel, vision-based tracking method that reports the 4D location of distinctly shaped, project related entities.

Linda Hui

Research Assistant
Ph.D. Student, expected graduation in 2015

Ms. Hui is a junior Ph.D. student doing research in construction facilities recognition and reconstruction modeling. She is currently working on Gygax software development.

Stefania-Christina Radopoulou

Research Assistant
Ph.D. Student, expected graduation in 2015

Ms. Radopoulou is a research assistant at the CIT group of the Laing O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology. She is a PhD candidate at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. Her research interests are in the area of construction object recognition.

GUA-ZHANG

Guangcong Zhang

Research Assistant
Ph.D. Student, expected graduation in 2016

Mr. Zhang is a research assistant in the CIT group. He is a second-year PhD candidate at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interests include computer vision and machine learning. Currently he is doing research on extraction and modelling geometric models from raw point cloud data. His research is part of the NSF sponsored project "Reciprocal Reconstruction and Recognition for Modeling of Constructed Facilities".
