Divisional Administrator
The role holder plays a key part in coordinating the administrative processes
of the IT Services Division and liaising with the rest of the Department.
The role holder will:
- Provide, for the Department, the primary point of contact for and knowledge
about the Division's business processes, including software licensing,
divisional purchasing, divisional finances, maintenance contracts,
timesheets and leave arrangements, and provide an informal point of
contact between the Division and other administrative staff at similar
grades elsewhere in the Department, providing feedback in both directions.
- Coordinate software licensing to ensure the legality and cost effectiveness
of software usage in the department. This includes devising business
processes, maintaining accurate records in bespoke databases, and
purchasing.
- Monitor the use of various resources, including Departmental telephone
costs and Divisional expenditure on specific projects, and generate reports
for funding providers.
- Run the divisional office, including general office administration (e.g.
dealing with paperwork, organisation of filing, telephone messages, and
typing).
- Provide services to the Department as a whole including producing and
maintaining Web pages, and data maintenance for the Department's
main database (EDDA) and IT Services infrastructure databases.
