Research interests
Alexander Moerchel is a part-time PhD student within the Innovation and Intellectual Property Management (IIPM) Lab at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM). Alexander's research interest lies in the areas of open innovation, IP management and innovation ecosystems. His particular focus is on developing visual tools and methods that enable researchers, practitioners and policy makers to identify, capture and analyse IP related dynamics in evolving innovation ecosystems as a result of both industrial transformations and crises settings. His contributions so far include the development and demonstration of the Standardised Visual Ecosystem Language (SVEL) and an IP-sepcific modular extension (SVEL+IP).
