Research interests

Turbine aerodynamics and design. In particular features relating to the secondary flows, within the turbine, formed due to interactions between the endwall boundary layers and the blade. Current research focuses on novel turbine designs that reduce these features to improve aerodynamic efficiency. A combination of computational fluid dynamics and experimental measurements on low-speed test facilities are used to improve understanding of such designs and inform future designs of gas turbine.
