5th International Symposium on Impact Engineering

The 5th International Symposium on Impact Engineering will be held in Cambridge in July 2004 with Bill Stronge, Professor of Applied Mechanics at CUED chairing the organising committee.

The primary objective of the ISIE series is to provide a forum for the presentation of recent progress in Impact Engineering and its related fields, both in terms of fundamental research and industrial applications.

This symposium will focus on experimental, theoretical and computational aspects of impact response of dynamic systems and structures as well as the behaviour of materials at high rates of strain. Application of this technology, such as impact damage to equipment, vehicle crashworthiness analyses and impact damage absorbing technologies will be prominent themes. Previous symposia in this series have been held in Singapore, Beijing, China and both Sendai and Kumamoto, Japan.
