Biomedical related research

Biomedical engineering is one of the rapidly expanding engineering (and medical) disciplines which has a major impact on diagnosis and treatment of disease.

CUED has embarked on a programme to forge links with clinical and science departments to advance some basic themes that are of clinical and scientific importance. These include the interaction of neurophysiology and biomechanics, the study of sudden cardiac death and, shortly, neurophysiological signal processing and encoding.

In addition to this programme a BME module will be taught in the fourth year undergraduate programme and also as a research module to post-graduates.

Meanwhile, a new series of web pages has been produced, bringing together the research activities within the Department under the general heading of biomedical research. They can be accessed from the research group home pages, under the heading 'Interdisciplinary research'.
