Dr Piran Kidambi, from the Hofmann Group has been awarded the first prize at the Association of British Turkish Academics Doctoral Research Awards 2014.  

The Association of British Turkish Academics (ABTA) Doctoral Research Awards aim to promote and reward scientific excellence amongst early career researchers in the UK

The Association of British Turkish Academics (ABTA) Doctoral Research Awards aim to promote and reward scientific excellence amongst early career researchers in the UK. Dr Piran was shortlisted as one amongst three finalists in the Engineering Sciences division from a total of ~210 applications received from ~57 universities in the UK.

The finalists presented their research to a general audience during the award ceremony at the London Business School. Dr Kidambi was awarded the first prize for his research presentation titled 'Making the Wonder Material - Graphene'. The award consisted of a cash prize and a certificate.
