The Department of Engineering will host Virtual Open Days on 17-18 September 2020 aimed at prospective applicants in Year 13 (or equivalent), in conjunction with the Cambridge Open Days. Parents/guardians and supporters are also invited to attend.
We hope to capture a real flavour of our very popular in-person open days with this virtual event. You will be able to ask academics questions and see video and other content which shows what being an engineering student at Cambridge is like.John Durrell
Prospective applicants will be given an overview of the Department and its facilities, as well as information on the course structure and the different areas of Engineering open to students during their studies.
Our Open Day talks webpage will host a video that will answer the most frequently asked questions about the whole course, as well as the application process. In addition, each Division of the Department will provide a video that explains the courses our students can choose to take and the work of that Division.
Prospective applicants can also register for a webinar featuring a panel of academics. Each webinar will contain a Q+A session. Some webinars will be themed and an academic from each Division will take questions. If you cannot attend the webinar for your chosen theme, you can sign up to one of the other webinars, as we will answer questions about the Engineering course and all of the Department's work during all of the webinars.
John Durrell, Director of Admissions in Engineering, said: “We hope to capture a real flavour of our very popular in-person open days with this virtual event.
