From Mir to here

Space - is living there easy? Just how do you clean you teeth? What do you eat? Can you blow your nose?

Approximately 400 school children from the region will be able to ask these questions and any others they had always wanted an answer to, at an event hosted by the Department of Engineering on Tuesday 4th November. Cosmonauts Dr Alexandre Martynov and Cmdr Colonel Alexandre Volkov will talk about their time on Mir, using unique slides, photos and footage filmed in space.

The lecture has been organised by 'Setpoint', Cambridgeshire, with the help of Dr Peter Long in the Department of Engineering. It will be followed by an evening event, when an invited adult audience including the many volunteers who help SATRO take science and technology to local schools throughout the year, will be able to ask their own questions.

The evening event on Tuesday 4th November 18.30 - 20.00 is FREE, but admission is by ticket only.
