Engineering in a connected world

Dr. Tim Minshall, Reader in Technology and Innovation Management in the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), delivered a talk entitled 'Engineering in a connected world' at TEDx Cambridge University recently.

New technologies enable ordinary people to collaboratively design solutions to the problems they face in daily life

Dr Tim Minshall

Dr. Tim Minshall is Reader in Technology and Innovation Management at the IfM. Actively involved in new technology ventures, his early projects supported the setting up of the Cambridge Enterprise. As a previous TEDx speaker, he is also involved in outreach activities to raise engineering awareness among younger schoolchildren. In this talk, Tim discusses how new technologies enable ordinary people to collaboratively design solutions to the problems they face in daily life. What does it mean to be an engineer, and how might we all draw on our inner-engineer to change the world we live in?
