Model of Cecil's hydrogen engine

Although many people might assume that the invention of a hydrogen engine is relatively new,The Reverend W. Cecil, Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge, wrote a paper in 1820 describing the workings of such an engine. A web site which brings his work to life, with animations, a copy of his original paper and some historical background is now available to view at:
