The Royal Academy of Engineering has appointed senior industrial engineers; Steven Adams (formerly Ford Motor Company) and Sam Beale (formerly Rolls-Royce) as Visiting Professors in Team-based Learning
The scheme provides financial support for experienced industrial engineers to deliver face-to-face teaching and mentoring at a host institution for three years. Engineering undergraduates benefit from an enhanced understanding of the role of engineering and the way it is practised, along with its challenges and demands, in companies dealing with issues including crucial infrastructure and advanced robotics.
The programme also enables the engineers to contribute to postgraduate teaching and curriculum development, to continue the impact of the scheme beyond the length of the appointment.
The Royal Academy of Engineering has appointed 28 senior industrial engineers as Visiting Professors at universities around the country.
Steve Adams and Sam Beale will be supporting the Department in enhancing, developing and embedding project and team-based learning for complex innovation projects at the heart of its undergraduate courses.
