In a recent article published in the Guardian, Professor Ann Dowling describes engineering as "the friendly face of science, because it is all about putting science to work for the benefit of humanity."

The article aimed at potential university applicants explains what engineering is all about. Professor Dowling draws on her own experiences to illustrate how "engineering is very relevant - it is also great fun.
