Research interests
Joe's research interests include finite element methods, multiphysics problems, partial differential equations, structure-preserving numerical methods, and high-performance computing. He is a core developer of the open-source finite element library FEniCS.
Teaching activity
Joe is an Affiliated Lecturer who lectures 3M1: Mathematical Methods and 4M17: Practical Optimisation.
