I am a PhD student in Speech Group, Machine Intelligence Lab, supervised by Professor Kate Knill.
Before starting my PhD Studentship funded by ALTA Institute, I was a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Speech Processing at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, where I focused on the development and deployment of AI/ML models for auto-marking systems for L2 English tests in various Cambridge English products.
Before joining Cambridge English, I worked as a Speech Recognition Engineer at Speechmatics, and completed my Master’s dissertation through an industry project with CereProc, on “Synthesising Personality with Neural Speech Synthesis” (published in Proceedings of the 24th Annual Meeting of the Special Interest Group on Discourse and Dialogue).
I hold an MSc in Speech and Language Processing from The University of Edinburgh, a BA (Hons) in Linguistics and Social Anthropology from The University of Manchester, and a BA in English Language and Literature from Fudan University.
