Biography

Xiaoxiang Na is a University Assistant Professor in Applied Mechanics at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge (CUED). He is a lead investigator with both the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight (CSRF) and the Cambridge Vehicle Dynamics Consortium (CVDC). His research interests include condition monitoring of road freight vehicles and buses, vehicle energy performance evaluation, and driver-vehicle dynamics. He currently leads Cambridge's team at the TransiT Hub, a collaboration of 8 universities and 67 industry partners across the UK.

Xiaoxiang Na received his BSc and MSc degrees in Automotive Engineering from the College of Automotive Engineering, Jilin University, China in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He joined the Driver-Vehicle Dynamics Group at CUED as a PhD student in October 2010 and received his PhD degree in November 2014. He subsequently worked at CUED as a Research Associate (2014-2019) and Senior Research Associate (2019-2023), before being appointed to his current position in July 2023.

Xiaoxiang Na has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed journal papers, and chaired or co-chaired many special sessions and workshops in international conferences. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Vehicles, and as Co-Chair of the Technical Committee on Human-Machine Interface for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles in the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. 

Xiaoxiang Na was awarded a Borysiewicz Interdisciplinary Fellowship in December 2021.
