Research projects

1. Piezo MEMS/NEMS 
The research focuses on the development and optimization of piezoelectric micro-machined ultrasonic transducers (PMUTs). By integrating advanced MEMS fabrication, frequency-domain modeling, and electrical/optical characterization, the aim is to develop compact ultrasonic platforms for bio-sensing applications. Current work involves building sensors for glucose metrology (blood-relevant range), neuromorphic sensing and in-ear diagnostics.

2. AI based Micro-Electronics
The project involves development of AI frameworks to interpret complex outputs from MEMS devices. These models learn signal representations, enabling automated feature extraction, classification, and cross-modal sensing analysis. Current work involves using self-supervised learning (SSL) and contrastive embedding techniques as the system moves toward a foundation model for MEMS-based sensing.

3. Photon based Acoustic Sensing
The work explores photoacoustics using supercontinuum lasers and ultrasonic detection sensors to probe optical absorption in liquids and tissues. The approach enables high-resolution, wavelength-tunable imaging on a chip-scale platform.​
