Research interests
Dr Wai Chung Tse is a critical care doctor in Melbourne and a PhD candidate in Engineering at the University of Cambridge within the International Health Systems Group, examining how systems engineering can strengthen health system resilience and point-of-care diagnostic implementation in resource-constrained settings across the Indo-Pacific. His work is generously supported by the Ramsay Centre.
Wai Chung contributes to Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) education across Australia, Nepal, and the Pacific Islands through faculty and research roles with POCUS in Emergency and Acute care in Resource-Limited Settings (PEARLS). Wai Chung has published over 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts through his work with the Monash Addiction Research Centre and Burnet Institute, with findings incorporated into UN Office of Drugs and Crime training materials for policymakers worldwide.
His work has been centred around integrating clinical medicine with global health, reflecting my commitment to integrating critical care, research, and education to strengthen healthcare resilience globally.
